Webinar Series "Improving the Higher Education Response to Hatred and Extremism on Campuses"
The CHECK IT HE project will hold the webinar series "Improving the Higher Education Response to Hatred and Extremism on Campuses" from April to July.

What do we do when we hear students making hate speeches about people of different nationalities? What can (and should) institutions do to prevent and intervene in hatred and extremism on campuses?
​
This series of sessions is a result of the CHECK IT project - Combating Hatred and Extremism in Higher Education - an Erasmus project whose objectives are to discuss and strengthen the higher education sector's response to hatred and extremism on campuses. The project includes teams from other countries: Cyprus, Turkey, Finland, the UK, and Serbia. Researchers from ICS and CECS participated in two project results related to gender and religion.

Hate and Extremism in Higher Education Institutions
The Doctoral Conferences are organized by the Student's Nucleus of the Doctorate in Sociology from University of Minho and have the collaboration of the steering committe of the course and the Sociology Department. This year, it also integrates the collaboration of the ERASMUS + Check It He - funded by the European Commission in which the Department of Sociology of the University of Minho participates.
In this issue, the theme under analysis covers the topics of hate crimes and extremism in higher education institutions, giving particular importance to the study of issues related to religion, gender and sexual orientation. In this sense, there will be part of the program people with responsibilities and experience in these matters.
